Exciting new book about Vikings!
At Vikingology we’re excited to share that our friend Davide Zori of Baylor University has just published a new book on Viking History titled Age of Wolf and Wind: Voyages Through the Viking World. Terri was lucky enough to help edit this volume which brings an exciting interdisciplinary approach to the subject of the history of the Viking Age.
Davide is a historian and archaeologist who teaches about Vikings and has spent many years digging for them in various parts of the Nordic world. In this book, published by Oxford University Press, he combines his deep understanding of the written evidence, including the Icelandic sagas and laws, along with his knowledge of material culture and the emerging use of hard sciences such as genomics and isotopic analysis to provide data that gives us a more nuanced and complete view of the Vikings.
We have had the good fortune to talk about Vikings with Davide — not once but twice! — which you can find in the links below. Episodes are also available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Watch this space, as we will be talking to Davide again soon to hear more about the book and what Viking investigations he’s got in store for the future.
His book is now available on Amazon and other book sellers. Please do check it out! Congrats Davide!
